Faculty and Staff: 5 Kindergarten teachers, 5 first grade teachers, 5 second grade teachers,5 third grade teachers, 4 fourth grade teachers, 4 fifth grade teachers, and 5 sixth grade teachers, 3 physical education teachers, 5 special education teachers, 2 speech pathologists, 1 counselor, 2 administrators, 1 reading coach, 3 math coaches,1 media specialist, and 1 behavior interventionist.
70% of all certified personnel hold advanced degrees; all teachers are highly qualified with the following specialty training: ARI, AMSTI, and Positive Behavior Support.

South Smiths Station Elementary School offers a variety of learning opportunities for its students, faculty, and staff members. The administration, highly qualified teachers, staff, and parents work together to provide a positive, nurturing, student-centered learning environment. High standards for student achievements are accomplished by a balanced curriculum with a strong academic focus. Basic skills in language arts and math are emphasized as essential tools in decision making, problem solving, critical thinking, and creativity. Evaluation of student growth is continually shared with both the students and parents through our school assemblies, parent conferences, newsletters, and team meetings.
